Life Hack: The Sway Test

Hello Friends,

We all want to live healthier and happier lives, but many of us have ingredient sensitivities which can make it tricky to know what to put in, or on, our bodies. This simple life-hack, called the Sway Test, might help you listen to your body, so it can help you make the right choices. I use it myself to check foods, supplements, and skin products.

But first, you must establish what your body’s yes and no responses are. And it’s important to be hydrated for the test to work properly, so make sure you’ve had plenty of water.

At home, stand with your feet shoulder width apart, your arms at your sides and eyes closed. This is referred to as a neutral position. Say to yourself, “Body, show me a yes.” You can say this out loud, or silently, while focusing on this question.

Now, pay attention to how your body responds. You may notice a slight pressure on your feet, towards your toes. If you don’t initially notice anything, repeat your question, “Body, show me a yes,” possibly several times. For most people, yes is the body swaying forwards.

Now it is time to determine your no response. Return to neutral position. Say, “Body, show me a no.” Normally, the body will sway backwards.

Now try experimenting. Ask yourself a series of questions to get more familiar with your body’s answers. For example, assuming your name is not Joe, ask yourself, “Is my name Joe?” Then, try another false name before asking the same question again using your actual name. You can also experiment with age and gender.

Once you feel confident that your body is giving you correct responses, you can try it at the store, while holding the product in question close to your chest. Ask your body, “Is this good for me”? If it’s a supplement and the answer was yes, then your next question could be “Do I take 2 a day”? If yes, then ask, “More than 2”? And so forth. Always check with a Health Practitioner regarding recommended dosage.

I hope this little trick will help you, as it has me.

Warm Wishes,

Stephanie
